Jazz Door
There is a small Jazz club on Seventh and Charles. It’s hidden under a ratty West Village two-flat on the garden level.
Except for this back door, the building is relatively well kept. The back door is almost falling out of a narrow doorframe in the rear of the building. It is a little smaller than an average door. If you were tall, you’d probably hit your head on it.
It looks like it was covered with tar to help keep the wood together. The tar is wearing off though, and the rotten wood is beginning to show through, particularly at the bottom of the door.
This is a close up of the bottom two feet or so.
