Dragon Skin
I used to live on one of the few streets in the West Village that is still made of brick pavers. After it rains, the street gets soft and buckles under the weight of the trucks that make deliveries to the warehouse next door.
The brown dot at the top of this shot is a three foot wide mud-filled pothole. Street crews come out to replace and reorganize the pavers every now and then, but the street is always uneven. I ride my motorcycle down it, and it feels like a rollercoaster. This shot was made after a fall rain.
I held the camera as far out of the window as I could and shot straight down.
Kristin says it looks like dragon skin.
